New Graduate Nurse Support Program

Build your career on a solid foundation. Our New Graduate Nurse Support Program provides a challenging learning environment for future nursing leaders through personalized, comprehensive, high-quality experiences. Enrollment in Program dependent upon hire as new graduate nurse at UMMC.

• Participate in an orientation program that utilizes a Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool (BKAT), personality and learning style assessment scores to tailor your experience
• Develop effective clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Be able to lead practice through evidence-based research
• Be empowered to improve practice in your unit and at the organizational level
• Experience a healthy work environment that promotes team work and socialization
• Engage in a one-on-one mentorship that will help identify and achieve short- and long-term goals on your journey to becoming a professional nurse
• Be mentored in your transition into a competent, professional nurse

By the completion of the program, participants will have performed a research project, conducted a presentation and produced a paper for publication. Students are also ready to be accepted as a graduate student at UMSON.
