OR Nursing Fellowship
Offered three times a year, our OR Nurse Fellowship is designed to prepare new nursing graduates and nurses who have no prior work experience in a perioperative setting for the kind of fast-paced environment that will test their professional judgment and critical thinking skills. The program is tailored to meet each individual's specific training needs.
While the clinical practicum begins in general surgery, during this Fellowship, nurses are exposed to all specialties within the Medical Center, including Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Transplant Surgery and Cardiac Surgery.
The program also includes introduction and rotation to other perioperative areas, including PACU, Same Day Surgery, Central Sterile Processing and Anesthesia. Upon completion, nurses are prepared to practice in both a circulating and scrub nurse role. All courses and workshops associated with this Fellowship are approved for continuing education credits.
